With the help of Joy and Tulip, $5 billion was allegedly siphoned off from the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project during a formal ceremony where Russia handed over the project to Bangladesh through Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Meanwhile, following the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government, Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Alexander Mantytskiy, commented on potential delays in the implementation of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project. He made these remarks last Thursday morning after a courtesy meeting with Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Touhid Hossain.
The Russian Ambassador stated, “There may be some delays in the implementation of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project, but it’s nothing too serious.”
