Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, the Naib-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former Member of Parliament said that if Jamaat comes to power, nothing will be imposed on the people by force. He accused a conspiratorial group of spreading false propaganda, claiming that Jamaat would restrict women’s freedom, force them to wear the burqa, and prevent them from going outside. However, he clarified that Islam has no provisions for imposing anything on anyone forcibly. He emphasized that the freedom Islam grants is unparalleled.

He further mentioned that those who struggle for truth and freedom do so without being driven by material greed, instead fighting in the path of Allah. Such individuals never force anything upon others.

He made these remarks as the chief guest at a goodwill gathering organized by the Dhaka Metropolitan South unit of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, held on the morning of September 16 at the Institute of Diploma Engineers in Dhaka. Taher also highlighted that when the laws of Allah are established, people will receive justice and fundamental rights, and there will be no need to shed blood or sacrifice lives.

He noted that Jamaat-e-Islami is working to establish Allah’s laws, and people are gravitating towards them. However, certain groups are engaged in conspiracies, but he believes the people will thwart these plots.

The event was presided over by Md. Nurul Islam Bulbul, Ameer of Dhaka Metropolitan South. Other prominent leaders, including Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad, and Advocate Motiur Rahman Akand, were also present.
