Nurul Haque Nur, President of Gono Odhikar Parishad and former VP of DUCSU, has said that the fall of the authoritarian Sheikh Hasina has been ensured through the movement of students and the masses. Now, the youth are organizing to build a new Bangladesh. However, at this very moment, a certain group is once again engaging in the occupation of garments factories, newspaper offices, islands, and enclosures. The youth will no longer be a stepping stone for any occupiers or extortionists to gain power.

Calling on the youth to build mass resistance against these forces, he urged the joint forces to bring these criminals under the law.

VP Nur made these remarks as the chief guest at a reception organized by the Patuakhali District Gono Odhikar Parishad at the Shaheed Minar premises on Friday at 4 PM.

The reception was presided over by Patuakhali District Gono Odhikar Parishad convener Syed Nazrul Islam Litu. Other speakers included senior council member of Gono Odhikar Parishad Shahidul Islam Fahim, joint general secretary Hasan Al Mamun, joint general secretary Robiul Hasan, Dhaka division organizational secretary Md. Tofazzal Hossain, Barisal division organizational secretary Md. Rafiqul Islam Rafiq, general secretary of Jubo Odhikar Parishad Nadim Hasan, and Patuakhali District Gono Odhikar Parishad convener Mostafizur Rahman.

Nurul Haque Nur, the former VP of DUCSU, said, “Just as we have ousted the Awami League, we will not allow any more occupiers and extortionists to come to power.”

Regarding an alliance with the BNP, he mentioned that if the proportional seat distribution in the national election is ensured and if the BNP agrees to form a national government, there can be an alliance with them. Otherwise, he stated that he would consider contesting the election by forming a coalition with other like-minded parties. He emphasized that there will no longer be any space in Bangladesh for extortionists or occupiers.
