BNP Senior Joint Secretary Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has labeled the remarks made by Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh about Bangladesh as provocative and suggestive.

Speaking to reporters on Friday afternoon at a financial aid event organized by ‘We are BNP Family’ in Ramapura, Dhaka, for the family of a rickshaw-puller named Sagar who was killed in the anti-Awami fascism movement, Rizvi made these comments.

Rizvi said, “I am expressing my deep concern over a matter. Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, in a meeting with the Indian Army commanders, has stated that the army should be prepared to establish peace through war. This is their domestic issue, related to their country’s security.”

He further added, “What has created our concern and apprehension is that he mentioned that the situations in Russia-Ukraine, Hamas, and Bangladesh are being observed. There is no war in Bangladesh. Here, the fall of the autocratic government was achieved through the best mass movement of the century. This is our own issue. A monstrous government was exploiting us, draining our blood. They siphoned off thousands of crores of taka from the people’s pockets. The monster government was fought against with the blood of the student and public movements. The head of that government fled in the face of the movement. Now, Bangladesh is in a normal situation. Bangladesh is a sovereign state. Rajnath Singh mentioning Bangladesh alongside Russia-Ukraine, Israel, and Hamas is suggestive and provocative. I urge all students and people of Bangladesh to stay alert on this matter.”

The BNP spokesperson also said, “Various conspiracies are still ongoing. Those who have been defeated have accumulated a huge amount of black money over the past 16 years. Now, they are using this black money to carry out various conspiracies. They are trying to use garment workers in different ways. They are deeply involved in a conspiracy to destabilize the entire country. They are trying to plunge the country into disaster by barricading the roads. The people of the country need to be vigilant about this. In Ashulia, there is an attempt to incite the workers by these evil forces. Workers must resist them.”

Rizvi added, “In the past 16 years, nearly 100 power plants have been established, and there has been a massive financial transaction with the Indian Adani Group through draft agreements or conditions. There is a percentage matter among them, and thousands of crores of taka have been transacted under the table. They signed agreements without any conditions.”

Present at the event were BNP Family convenor journalist Atikur Rahman Ruman, Volunteer League leader Zahidul Kabir, Jubo Dal leader Mehboob Masum Shanto, Dr. Abdul Awal, Arifur Rahman Tushar, among others.
