Jamaat Provides Support to the Family of Ridoy Chandra Tarua in Patuakhali

The Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has donated 100,000 BDT to the family of Ridoy Chandra Tarua, a former student of Patuakhali Government Jubilee School who was killed in the anti-discrimination student movement.

On Friday, August 23, in the teachers’ auditorium of Patuakhali Government Jubilee High School, Advocate Moazzem Hossain Helal, the Assistant Secretary of the Central Jamaat-e-Islami, handed over the donation to Ridoy Chandra Tarua on behalf of the Ameer of Jamaat.

During the event, Ridoy Chandra Tarua’s father, Ratan Chandra Tarua, his mother, sister, brother-in-law, and other family members were present.

Prior to this, in a session conducted by the District Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami, ABM Saifullah, and presided over by District Ameer Professor Mohammad Shah Alam, speeches were given by Advocate Moazzem Hossain Helal, Assistant Secretary of the Central Jamaat-e-Islami; Fakhruddin Khan Razi, Central Working Committee Member; Ratan Chandra Tarua, Ridoy Chandra Tarua’s father; District Naib-e-Ameer Advocate Nazmul Ahsan; City Ameer Abul Bashar; former President of Patuakhali Press Club Golam Kibria; Head Teacher of Jubilee High School Md. Alauddin; and Karim Mridha College teachers Ashok Das and Gautam Kumar Das, among others.

During the event, the speakers pledged to stand by the family of Shaheed Ridoy Chandra Tarua and announced that 2.2 million BDT would be donated to support 22 individuals from Patuakhali who were killed in the anti-discrimination student movement.
