We Will Not let Anyone to Create Unrest in the Country: Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

    Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has firmly stated that they will not allow anyone to create unrest in the country by exploiting the situation. From the very beginning of the student and public uprising, Jamaat has instructed members of different religions to take responsibility for safeguarding their religious institutions, ensuring peace and preventing any untoward incidents that could destabilize the nation.

    Dr. Shafiqur Rahman made these remarks during a discussion meeting with the central leaders of the Zaker Party. The meeting took place on Friday, August 16th, at 4 PM in the conference room of the Jamaat’s Dhaka Metropolitan South office in Paltan, Dhaka.

    The meeting was attended by several prominent figures, including Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former Member of Parliament Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Zaker Party Secretary General Shamim Haider, Jamaat’s Central Executive Committee member and Ameer of Dhaka Metropolitan South Muhammad Nurul Islam Bulbul, Central Working Committee member and Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, Central Majlis-e-Shura members Abdul Sabur Fakir, Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin, Assistant Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South Delwar Hossain, Muhammad Kamal Hossain, Dr. Abdul Mannan, and Zaker Party central leader Advocate Abu Latif Khan, among others.

    In his address, the Jamaat Ameer offered prayers for the souls of those who were martyred during the student and public uprising and acknowledged the Jamaat’s responsibility towards the families of the martyrs. He emphasized the need to build a just and orderly society, inspired by the resilience and determination seen in the families of the martyrs and the injured.

    Dr. Shafiqur Rahman expressed concern over the disorder and chaos occurring in certain areas following the revolution. He condemned acts of land grabbing, looting, and other heinous activities by miscreants, asserting that such behavior is deplorable and must be rejected. He stressed the importance of restoring peace and order in the country, ensuring that past mistakes are not repeated, and safeguarding the rights of all citizens.

    He also highlighted the importance of national unity, stating that the country should not be divided along the lines of majority or minority. Regardless of ethnicity, religion, or background, every person born in this country is a proud citizen of Bangladesh. The Ameer affirmed that Bangladesh belongs to all its legitimate citizens and that Jamaat holds equal compassion and responsibility for everyone.

    Shamim Haider, the Secretary General of the Zaker Party, emphasized the significance of the meeting, noting that Jamaat-e-Islami and the Zaker Party are two of the largest Islamic political parties in Bangladesh. He reiterated their shared commitment to building a prosperous nation and advancing the welfare of the country’s people. Haider expressed confidence that through unity and collaboration, they could transform Bangladesh into a thriving and prosperous country.
