    Sheikh Hasina and 23 Others Face Lawsuit Over Student’s Murder

    Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, along with former Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader and 22 others, has been implicated in a lawsuit filed in connection with the murder of college student Fayzul Islam. The court has ordered the registration of the case at the Kafrul police station.

    The order was issued today by Magistrate Ahmad Humayun Kabir of the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court, as confirmed by court bench assistant Md. Helal Uddin.

    The case was filed by Fayzul Islam’s brother, Rajib, who is seeking justice for the murder of the 12th-grade student at Dhaka Model Degree College. This marks the third case filed against Sheikh Hasina in the past two days.

    In addition to Sheikh Hasina and Obaidul Quader, the other accused include former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former Law Minister Anisul Haque, former Minister of Textiles and Jute Jahangir Kabir Nanak, former Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud, former State Minister for Information Mohammad Arafat, Sheikh Hasina’s former adviser on private industry and investment Salman F. Rahman, former MP Moinul Hossain Khan Nikhil, former General Secretary of Dhaka North Awami League M.A. Mannan, President of the Volunteer League Gazi Mezbaul Haque Sacchu, former MP Kamal Ahmed Majumder, former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, former Additional IGP and RAB Director General Harun Or Rashid, former Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Habibur Rahman, former Detective Branch Chief Harun Or Rashid, former Joint Commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarkar, local Awami League ward president Mofazzal Hossain, Dhaka North City Corporation Councilor Jamal Mostafa, Chhatra League President Saddam Hossain, General Secretary Wali Asif Inan, Dhaka North Chhatra League leader Salamat Ullah Sagar, and Chhatra League member Dipankar Bashar.

    Additionally, 500 to 600 unidentified local Awami League leaders and activists have been listed as accused in the case.
