Plaintiffs and witnesses, the fake freedom fighter in the case against the late Allama Maulana Delwar Hossain Sayeedi, have fled the area amid fear of repurcation.

Their disappearance has been noted since yesterday, Monday, following the ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s flight to India.

Among the missing are the plaintiff, former fake freedom fighter Mahbub Alam from the Parerhat area of the upazila, and witnesses Gouranga, Altaf, Nabin, and Mahtab Uddin.

Family members have expressed that they are living in fear. Several anonymous sources have stated that the charges against Maulana Delwar Hossain Sayeedi were false and unfounded. They claim that a seven-year-old child, purporting to be a freedom fighter, filed a case that led to Sayeedi’s imprisonment, and allege that his death was orchestrated with government support. Consequently, the plaintiffs and witnesses have fled the area.

Indurkani Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Kamruzzaman Talukder confirmed, “Following the resignation of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Mahbub Alam, the plaintiff in the Delwar Hossain Sayeedi case, was brought to the police station. He was then advised to relocate to a safe place. His current whereabouts are unknown. I have no information regarding the other witnesses in the case.”
