Chief of Army Staff General Waker-uz-Zaman has addressed the nation, acknowledging the current political crisis and announcing plans for the formation of an interim government. He assured the public that all perpetrators of violence will be brought to justice and urged everyone to place their trust in the military.

In his address, General Waker-uz-Zaman called for maintaining peace and order throughout the country. “Have faith in me and let us work together. Please, help us. We will gain nothing from violence and conflict. Refrain from engaging in confrontations. Together, we have built a beautiful country,” he stated.

He emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration to navigate through this challenging period, reiterating the military’s commitment to restoring stability and justice in the nation.

During the meeting, among the political parties present were BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-E-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, and member of civil society Dr. Asif Iqbal.
