Amid the nationwide total non-cooperation movement organized by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, demanding the resignation of the government, there have been extensive clashes and violence across the country, including in the capital, Dhaka. On Sunday, the first day of this movement, violent confrontations between government supporters, police, and protesters resulted in 98 fatalities across 20 districts and metropolitan areas.
