Anti-Discrimination Student Movement’s Nationwide Call for Non-Cooperation Sees Impact on Dhaka’s Streets

Dhaka, Bangladesh – The anti-discrimination student movement’s call for a nationwide non-cooperation movement on Sunday, August 4, has significantly impacted the streets of the capital. The movement, centered around a single demand, has led to noticeable disruptions in the usual flow of traffic.

Compared to a typical day, there were noticeably fewer vehicles on the roads. Among the vehicles that were seen, rickshaws and CNG-powered auto-rickshaws were more prevalent.

The reduction in public transport has caused considerable inconvenience for many office-goers, leaving them struggling to find transportation. Patients and their relatives heading to hospitals have also faced significant difficulties due to the lack of available vehicles.
