Dhaka, August 3, 2024: Protesters have initiated a rally at the Science Lab intersection in the capital under the banner of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. The protest began at 12 PM today, Saturday.

The demonstrators are marching to protest the attacks on peaceful student and citizen movements across the country, the subsequent killings, and to advocate for their nine-point demands. One of the protest leaders announced, “We have come here to conduct a peaceful protest. We believe the police will not attack us.” The students are chanting various anti-government slogans such as “My brother is in the grave, why is the killer out?”, “Justice, justice, we want justice”, “We have given blood, we will give more blood”, and “Light it up, light it up, set the fire.”

A significant number of police officers have been stationed at the Science Lab intersection since morning.
