Golam Parwar, Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former MP, said that Jamaat will extend maximum cooperation to the interim government in building a new Bangladesh.

He made this remark on Thursday (September 12) while addressing as the chief guest at a leadership assembly organized by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Chittagong Zone at Safa Arcade in Chittagong city.

He said that in their pursuit to remain in power permanently, their leaders were killed, and through three consecutive national elections, people’s voting rights were snatched away. However, the student-populace movements crushed those dreams. The uprising of the young student community in July, and through bloodshed, has led to the establishment of an interim government in the country. Jamaat will provide the highest level of cooperation to the interim government in building a new Bangladesh.

Presided over by Central Executive Committee member and Assistant Secretary General Maulana Muhammad Shahjahan, the event also featured speeches from Central Majlis-e-Shura member and Chittagong Metropolitan Ameer, former MP Shahjahan Chowdhury, Central Majlis-e-Shura member Professor Ahsanullah Bhuiyan, Muhammad Zafar Sadeq, Principal Muhammad Amiruzzaman, Chittagong North District Ameer Professor Nurul Amin Chowdhury, Chittagong South District Ameer Anwarul Alam Chowdhury, Central Majlis-e-Shura member Muhammad Nazrul Islam, and Chittagong Metropolitan Secretary Principal Muhammad Nurul Amin, among others.

Golam Parwar stated that Allah, on August 5, bestowed mercy upon Jamaat-e-Islami, a persecuted organization, and the entire nation. He freed everyone from the oppression and tyranny that all political parties, organizations, professionals, religious scholars, and the entire civil society endured for the last 15 and a half years. The fascist Awami ruler’s burdensome rule has been removed from our chests, and a new Bangladesh has been presented to us. The struggles, sacrifices, and bloodshed of millions of people that brought an end to this fascist misrule will be etched forever in the history of Bengal.

Shahjahan Chowdhury, the Chittagong Metropolitan Ameer, emphasized that the entire nation must unite, regardless of party or opinion. He expressed Jamaat’s support for the interim government in eliminating communal violence and chaos.

In his presidential speech, Assistant Secretary General Maulana Shahjahan said that the message of Islam must be delivered to all levels. We must reach the people’s doorsteps in service to them. We have to play a revolutionary role in meeting people’s expectations. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami stands for that change. For this transformation, we need to prepare ourselves mentally and step forward to play our role on the ground. He prayed for Allah’s guidance so that Jamaat may fulfill its role in the welfare of the nation.
