Sarzis Alam, the coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, stated that those who didn’t have the courage to speak for 16 years and who didn’t take to the streets in 53 years are now expecting all problems to be solved within 16 days with the formation of the interim government. These individuals are taking to the streets to pursue personal or group interests and are besieging various institutions.
He made these remarks today while visiting injured protesters at Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Sarzis Alam further mentioned that it will take time to heal a state with such deep wounds. If blockades are imposed without allowing that time, it will hinder the stabilization of the state. Therefore, he urged giving the interim government three to six months.
He also said, “The fascist government of the last 16 years has turned the country into one of corruption. Now, if we want to move the state forward, everyone must work together.”
Present at the time were AFM Khalid Hossain, the religious advisor of the interim government, central coordinator Hasnat Abdullah, and other leaders.
