As of Saturday afternoon, operations have resumed in 538 out of the 639 police stations across the country. This development marks a significant step towards restoring normalcy following recent disruptions.

According to a press release issued by the Police Headquarters, 84 out of 110 metropolitan police stations and 454 out of 529 district police stations have resumed their activities as of 3 PM on Saturday.

The suspension of police activities in many stations occurred in the wake of the mass uprising on August 5, which led to the resignation and departure of Sheikh Hasina from the country. Fearing for their safety, many police officers either refrained from reporting to duty or abandoned their posts, leading to the temporary closure of several police stations.

The gradual resumption of police operations is seen as a crucial step in stabilizing the security situation and ensuring law and order in the aftermath of the political upheaval.
