China has welcomed the interim government formed under the leadership of Nobel laureate economist Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. This information was shared by the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, citing Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian on Friday, August 9.

When asked about China’s reaction to the formation of the new government in Bangladesh under Dr. Yunus’ leadership, spokesperson Lin Jian stated, “An interim government has been formed in Bangladesh, and China welcomes it. China consistently adheres to the policy of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries. We respect Bangladesh’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the right of the Bangladeshi people to choose their own path of development.”

He further added, “We are firmly committed to the principle of good neighborliness and friendship with the people of Bangladesh. The friendship between China and Bangladesh is long-standing and deep. China highly values its relationship with Bangladesh and seeks to enhance bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields. We are ready to work with Bangladesh to further advance our comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.”
