Dr. Mohammad Younus, the Chief Adviser of the Government of Bangladesh and Nobel Laureate, is set to arrive in the United Kingdom tomorrow, 10th June 2025, at the invitation of the King Charles. During his visit, Dr. Younus will receive the prestigious the “King’s Harmony Award”, a mark of global recognition for his exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to rebuilding a nation from the ashes of tyranny.

Dr. Younus assumed the role of Chief Adviser at a critical juncture in Bangladesh’s history—immediately following the historic July Revolution, which saw the ousting of a fascist regime that had long gripped the country with fear and injustice. At a time of economic despair, lawlessness, and widespread disillusionment, Dr. Younus stepped forward to lead a broken nation toward recovery, justice, and hope.

Under his stewardship, Bangladesh has experienced a remarkable transformation. What was once dubbed a “bottomless basket” economy is now showing signs of strength and revival. Through pragmatic reforms and inclusive development strategies, Dr. Younus has restructured the national economy, empowered grassroots initiatives, and fostered foreign partnerships that promise a brighter future for millions.

His government has also restored the rule of law and reinvigorated public trust in democratic institutions. The culture of impunity that once defined the fascist era has been steadily dismantled, giving way to a society increasingly rooted in justice and accountability.

Internationally, Dr. Younus has enhanced Bangladesh’s standing through visionary diplomacy. A recent landmark agreement with the Government of Japan will see tens of thousands of Bangladeshis gain employment and training opportunities in Japan—an initiative that reflects both his commitment to improving lives and his ability to build lasting global partnerships.

Dr. Younus’s leadership is not only reshaping Bangladesh but also inspiring its people—especially the youth. By instilling a renewed sense of dignity, pride, and possibility, he has become a symbol of hope for a new generation determined to build a democratic and progressive nation.

The British King’s Award stands as a powerful testament to his tireless efforts, and the Bangladeshi diaspora in the UK is eagerly preparing to honor him. In London, excitement is palpable among the community, with plans underway for a grand reception. While a small group aligned with the former regime continues to express dissent, the overwhelming majority of British Bangladeshis are united in their admiration and support for Dr. Younus.

His visit to the UK is expected to be more than a ceremonial occasion—it is poised to be a milestone moment for the global Bangladeshi community and a strong affirmation of Bangladesh’s journey toward democratic resilience and socio-economic progress.

In this time of national transformation, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Mohammad Younus for his visionary leadership, and we look forward to welcoming him with the honor and celebration he rightfully deserves. His journey is not just a personal triumph but a beacon of hope for an entire nation.

With lots of hope and thanks
