Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar has stated that no reform work should be halted under the pretext of the constitution. He asserted that no revolution in the world has adhered to constitutional constraints, nor will it. Even the revolution achieved through the student and public movement in Bangladesh in July-August did not follow the constitution.
Golam Parwar also claimed that Sheikh Hasina has fled the country, yet the conspiracy has not ended. He accused her of plotting against the nation from abroad and urged citizens to remain vigilant against such conspiracies.
He made these statements as the chief guest at the district Jamaat Rukun conference on Saturday morning (October 26) at the Shariatpur Municipal Auditorium.
He added that over the past 15-16 years, they have led struggles and protests, during which some people were abducted and killed, while others faced attacks and legal cases. He argued that many perpetrators of these injustices remain unpunished, with no justice process yet initiated. Parwar called upon the government to swiftly bring the killers to justice, warning that the lack of accountability would harm society and the country. He also claimed that Sheikh Hasina’s government subjected them to severe oppression and fabricated charges to have scholars and religious leaders executed.
The former Member of Parliament further remarked that when the constitution fails to reflect the people’s aspirations, citizens achieve that reflection through revolution. He explained that governments do not resign through revolution—they are ousted. While resignation aligns with the constitution, ousting is achieved through revolution, not constitutional means.
Golam Parwar accused the Awami League government of looting billions during their time in power, which he claimed is now funding conspiracies against the country. He described the government as fascist, alleging that it has corrupted all institutions of the state. He advocated for a “mass revolution of 2024” as the foundation of national unity and called upon all political parties to come together and build the nation based on this spirit.
The conference, presided over by District Jamaat Ameer Principal Maulana Abdur Rob Hashemi and moderated by Acting Secretary Maulana Masudur Rahman, featured special guests such as Advocate Ajmal Hossain, a team member from the Faridpur region, former Madaripur Ameer Abdus Sobhan, former Shariatpur Ameer Maulana Khalilur Rahman, Division Chief of the Workers Welfare Federation Azaharul Islam, and central Majlis-e-Shura member KM Maqbul Hossain.
Also in attendance were Majlis-e-Shura member Mujibur Rahman Khan from Dhaka Metropolitan South, Jamaat leader Hedayet Ullah, and other speakers.
