Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, has reportedly left India under pressure and is now in Ajman, United Arab Emirates. According to several sources, she has taken refuge in the city, though the details of her departure from India remain unclear.

Speculation suggests that Sheikh Hasina is currently staying at the residence of Shamim Osman, a trusted ally, in Ajman. It is believed that her sister, Sheikh Rehana, is also with her. Sheikh Hasina had left Bangladesh on August 5 amid a mass student uprising and sought refuge in India. Since then, she has attempted to secure asylum in several countries, including those in Europe, the United States, and the Middle East, but these efforts were unsuccessful.

Earlier, Sheikh Hasina’s attempt to seek asylum in the United Arab Emirates and Britain was denied, and her attempts to find refuge in other countries also failed. While her current stay in Ajman is confirmed, there is no specific information about the conditions under which she has been granted asylum, or how long she will remain there.

Sheikh Hasina fled Bangladesh in response to a mass uprising on August 5. The interim government, led by Dr. Muhammad Yunus, has taken steps to address the corruption, irregularities, and extrajudicial killings that allegedly occurred during Sheikh Hasina’s 16-year rule. There have been multiple calls to bring her back to face justice, and efforts are ongoing.

The situation remains fluid as Sheikh Hasina’s next destination is yet to be confirmed.
