On September 18, Human Rights Support Society (HRSS) condemned and demanded justice for two separate killings at Dhaka University’s Fazlul Huq Muslim Hall and Jahangirnagar University. According to media reports, an intellectually disabled man named Tofazzal was beaten to death on suspicion of theft at DU, while former Chhatra League leader Shamim Ahmed died after students handed him over to authorities following a mob beating at JU.

HRSS expressed strong condemnation, stating that these incidents represent a grave violation of human rights and a moral decline in society. The organization emphasized that no one has the right to take the law into their own hands, and all accused deserve justice through the courts. HRSS urged a prompt and thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
