The interim government has restructured the International Crimes Tribunal, appointing Advocate Tajul Islam as the Chief Prosecutor and four other prosecutors.
This information was announced by the Ministry of Law on Saturday night. Earlier, on Thursday (September 5), the Ministry of Law finalized the official notification regarding the matter.
The notification states that Advocate Tajul Islam will enjoy the same status as the Attorney General. In addition to Tajul Islam, four other lawyers have been appointed as prosecutors in the tribunal.
The four new prosecutors are Mizanul Islam (rank of Additional Attorney General), Gazi Monowar Hossain Tamim (rank of Deputy Attorney General), B. M. Sultan Mahmud (rank of Deputy Attorney General), and Abdullah Al Noman (rank of Assistant Attorney General).
The order will take immediate effect, as mentioned in the notification.
