Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen has stated that Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is a disciplined party. He made these remarks during a courtesy visit to the central office of Jamaat-e-Islami in Dhaka’s Moghbazar on Monday, September 2nd. The Chinese ambassador led a four-member delegation, which included the Deputy Ambassador.

During the meeting with the Ameer (leader) of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, various topics related to the interests of both countries were discussed. Present at the meeting were Nayeb-e-Ameer and former Member of Parliament (MP) Professor Mujibur Rahman, Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Assistant Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum, and other leaders.

Following the meeting, Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, in a press briefing, stated, “Our meeting was held in a very friendly environment. We discussed various issues of mutual interest for a long time, including working together in education, culture, and development. We hope to have more opportunities in the future for the governments, people, and political parties of both countries to work more closely together.”

Expressing satisfaction with Jamaat-e-Islami’s hospitality, Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen said, “Bangladesh is a beautiful country, and Jamaat-e-Islami is a disciplined party. The people of China desire a friendly relationship with the people of Bangladesh, and we are interested in working for Bangladesh’s development, progress, and prosperity in the future.”

During the discussion, the Jamaat leaders requested China to be more active in the resettlement of Rohingya refugees and increasing investment in Bangladesh. Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman noted, “The People’s Republic of China is an important development partner for us. We hope for more investment from China in Bangladesh and seek a more active role from them in the Rohingya resettlement issue.”
