• Former Ansar Chief Major General Aminul Haq formed a new Battalion within Ansar called Ansar Guard Battalion (AGB) in the image of Sheikh Mujib’s ‘Rakhsi Bahini’.
  • Sajib Wajed Joy, the son of Sheikh Hasina, warned the people of Bangladesh that they would witness how the country is governed after the fall of his mother, the dictator Sheikh Hasina.
  • The current Ansar Strike is another failed attempt to bring back the Fascist Regime in the country.
  • There are concerns that similar disruptions could be orchestrated in the future using workers from the Power Development Board (PDB), garment workers, and other union forces controlled by agents of the fascist regime of Hasina.

While the entire country is coming together to help those affected by the floods, what is the reason behind the sudden strike by the Ansar force? It is known that there is a deep conspiracy behind this. Sheikh Hasina fled the country under the pressure of the student and public protests, and her remaining associates in the country are now working in various ways to destabilize the interim government.

Since August 24, approximately 70,000 members of the Ansar force have announced a strike. They are deployed to secure around 5,500 important government and non-government institutions across the country. Airports, land ports, industrial establishments, and various key sites are being secured by them. It has been reported that this crucial security force is being incited against the current government by Major General A.K.M. Aminul Haque, the former director of Bangladesh Ansar. Loyal to the fascist forces and Indian interests, Major General Aminul Haque is allegedly trying to incite the Ansar force against the people’s government with the aim of creating chaos in the country and paving the way for the return of monstrous fascist powers.

The people of the country must understand clearly that if those responsible for the current anti-state actions and past misdeeds are not brought to justice quickly, other conspirators of fascism will be encouraged.

The monstrous fascist forces collapsed under the pressure of the students and public protests, forcing Sheikh Hasina to flee. Through the sacrifices of Shaheed Abu Sayeed and his comrades, a democratic government was established in independent Bangladesh under the leadership of Nobel laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus. This government is moving forward, facing thousands of challenges posed by fascism. To ensure that the government fails at every step and is unable to advance, fascist forces, with the help of both domestic and foreign allies, are continuing various plots and conspiracies.

Many claim that the relationship between the fascist government and the hegemonic government of neighboring India was very close. Even after the fall of Hasina’s government, India has conducted anti-Bangladesh propaganda and attempted to bring their puppet fascist forces back to power.

Recently, when the Dumboor Dam in Tripura, India, was suddenly released, a massive flood hit several districts in Bangladesh, including Comilla and nearby areas, creating an unprecedented situation. It is believed that India intentionally created this flood situation to destabilize the new government. The people of Bangladesh have not faced such a catastrophic flood in recent memory. Thousands of homes have been submerged overnight, millions of people are trapped in water, numerous people and livestock have died in the strong currents, and many are missing. The new government is struggling to manage this severe situation.

While the entire nation is working tirelessly, putting everything on the line to combat the floods, members of the Ansar force have taken to the streets in the name of demands. Reports suggest that Ansar members who had no demands for the past 15 years are now encircling the Secretariat and protesting. Around 10,000 Ansar members have gathered at the Secretariat, holding several advisers of the interim government hostage. Due to the presence of Ansar members, all gates of the Secretariat were closed, and officials and employees remained trapped for a long time.

It has been reported that the recently retired Director-General of the Ansar force, Major General Aminul Haque, who was once a student leader of Jahangirnagar University and later president of the Central Chhatra League, is pulling the strings behind this rebellion. Aminul Haque has provoked the Ansar members with promises of various benefits and has been working to build the Ansar force into a strong paramilitary force, recruiting thousands of pro-Awami League youths from various regions of Bangladesh.

It is clear that this movement is planned. The government should take swift action to control the Ansar members and bring the conspirators under the rule of law to maintain the country’s stability.

Mastermind Major General Aminul Haque

Formerly a student leader at Jahangirnagar University, later the president of the Central Chhatra League, and the younger brother of Awami League leader and former minister Enamul Haque Shamim, Major General Aminul Haque Swapan was the recently retired Director-General of the Ansar force. Aminul Haque was stationed in London as a Defense Attaché during his tenure as Brigadier General, where his main task was to monitor BNP’s acting chairman Tareq Rahman and gather information about his activities to provide to the fugitive Hasina. To accomplish this task, he expanded his office’s manpower and utilized some of Enamul Haque Shamim’s trusted party workers based in London.

He was the longest-serving Defense Attaché (DA) in the history of the Bangladesh High Commission in London, and he diligently performed his duties there until 2020. As a result, the fugitive Hasina brought him back to the country, promoting him first to Brigadier General and then to Major General in 2021. As part of a long-term plan, he was appointed Director-General of the Ansar force in 2022.

Reorganizing the Ansar Force and Abuse of Power

Aminul Haque began building the Ansar force into a powerful paramilitary force, recruiting thousands of pro-Awami League youths from various regions of Bangladesh. He formed a new unit of the Ansar force called the Ansar Guard Battalion (AGB), equipping them with heavy weapons and preparing them for any operation to protect the fugitive Hasina government.

He provided full military training to regular Ansar members and armed them with modern weapons similar to the police, ensuring they could replace the police if necessary. Much like the Rakkhi Bahini formed from members of the Mujib Bahini and Kaderia Bahini in 1972, he prepared the Ansar force for similar use. This Rakkhi Bahini has been compared to the Nazi Gestapo by many from 1972 to 1975.

Just as the Rakkhi Bahini played a significant role in the first parliamentary elections of independent Bangladesh on March 7, 1973, the Ansar force, in collaboration with the police, played a substantial role in ensuring the “night vote” during the 2018 national elections. Following this trend, Major General Amin ensured the fugitive Hasina’s victory in the 2024 election by distributing Ansar uniforms to Chhatra League members on election day. The fugitive Hasina government was so pleased with the Ansar force’s success that they decided to rename the Ansar to “Bangladesh National Guard.”

The Current Unrest and Consequences

The recent unrest among the Ansar force was planned after August 5, when Major General Aminul Haque developed the entire strategy. Immediate dismissal and arrest of this general are necessary to solve the problem. To save the country, he must be taken into remand to uncover the main plot immediately.

On Monday (August 25), after students chased away Ansar members, Gate No. 3 of the Secretariat was opened at 10:30 p.m., allowing officials and employees to exit.

Meanwhile, describing the Ansar members’ actions as an “Ansar Coup,” Asif Mahmood, Sports Adviser to the interim government and Coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, warned of dire consequences if any coup attempts are made in the future. He issued this warning in a Facebook status on Sunday night (August 25).

Asif Mahmood stated in his status, “No conspiracy will be enough to thwart the student-public uprising. After the examples of the judicial coup and the misguided Ansar coup, if you are not careful, you will have to face dire consequences.”

A statement from the Bangladesh Army mentioned, “Yesterday (Sunday), army personnel deployed for law and order ensured overall security in the Bangladesh Secretariat area, reinforcing security at various key locations and all gates of the Secretariat. Throughout the day, around 10,000 Ansar members gathered to lay siege to the Secretariat, holding hostage seven advisers of the interim government along with other senior officials of the Secretariat. In the afternoon, the Director-General of Ansar and VDP arrived at the Secretariat to calm the agitated Ansar members and accepted all their demands. Even then, the agitated Ansar members did not leave the Secretariat area but kept the Director-General of Ansar and VDP confined, and some Ansar members tried to break into the Secretariat by breaking Gate No. 3.”

It is evident that there is a conspiracy behind the Ansar uprising aimed at destabilizing the new government in Bangladesh. It is time to identify the main conspirators behind this plot and take strict action against them. Ansar members should distance themselves from such conspiracies for the sake of the country and maintain their role in ensuring the country’s stability. For the benefit of the people of Bangladesh, we must remain vigilant and take firm action against the conspirators.
