The attempt by India’s intelligence agency ‘RA&W’ and Sheikh Hasina to stage a coup on August 10 has failed. The next planned date is August 15. India, which was relying heavily on Sheikh Hasina as their key ally, is now disappointed and in disarray after she lost control following just 22 days of protests and fled to Delhi. During an all-party meeting in the Indian Parliament, a prominent opposition leader criticized the loss of control over Dhaka, attributing it to intelligence failures and the complacency of the ruling government. Meanwhile, a BJP leader suggested exploring the possibility of an intervention similar to the ‘Maldives-style’ action in 1988 or the ‘Indian Peace Keeping Force’ operation in Sri Lanka in 1987, to protect Hindus.
After the all-party meeting, Indian intelligence agencies have started preparing for their next plan. This new operation has been given a name, though sources were unwilling to disclose it to Mirror Asia.
As part of this operation, Sheikh Hasina’s son, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, has shifted his stance, calling for unity among party members and a return to politics.

According to reports, Sajeeb Wazed still claims that Sheikh Hasina is the legitimate Prime Minister of Bangladesh, a statement widely covered by Indian and Bangladeshi media. Additionally, a full bench meeting of the Supreme Court was called on her orders, where it was intended to declare the government led by Dr. Muhammad Yunus as illegitimate. There were also plans for some shootings within the police force due to internal conflicts, and attacks were planned on the military and civil society in several parts of the country. Meanwhile, Hindu mass gatherings were called in at least 27 locations across the country, including Shahbagh and Cheragi Pahar in Chittagong. Awami League activists also blended in with these gatherings on Hasina’s orders.
Additionally, a second force comprising 4,000 armed Awami League members was prepared to attack Hindus, police, and leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement if necessary. At the same time, a group of bureaucrats in the secretariat was instructed to be ready to support the coup.

It was also reported that at least 18 journalists in two teams arrived in Dhaka from Delhi to cover the entire event live. It is also being claimed that such large-scale communal violence has not occurred since Bangladesh’s independence. There are even claims that the revolution was orchestrated by Pakistani intelligence, aiming to bring Khaleda Zia to power. Video footage of Khaleda Zia’s recent hospital speech is being used to portray her as an anti-Hindu, pro-Pakistan leader.
Mirror Asia has learned through its sources that, despite the failure of the August 10 plan, another one is scheduled for August 15. On that day, a ‘B Team’ consisting of figures like Banga Bir Kader Siddiqui and Sohel Taj is expected to participate in a mourning event at Dhanmondi 32, while another event is planned in Tungipara, Gopalganj. Awami League leaders and activists are planning a show of strength on this day. Several officials are providing Hasina with updates on the situation in Dhaka. Orders have been issued to ensure that the Yunus government cannot cover up the issue of communal violence.
It has also been confirmed by Mirror Asia that Hasina, with the support of her Bangladesh network and Indian intelligence agencies, aims to destabilize the country to undermine the government or create a situation that warrants Indian intervention. The warning from Joy, “Let’s see how Yunus runs the government,” is being echoed by Hasina in her conversations.
