Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, the Ameer of Islami Andolan Bangladesh and Pir of Charmonai, has demanded that the funds embezzled and transferred abroad be brought back to the country and confiscated. He stated that during Sheikh Hasina’s government, people’s legitimate demands were ignored, leading to killings, which they could not stand by and witness. Despite the risks, they joined the student and public movement. He made these statements as the chief guest at a rally held on Saturday afternoon at Laldighi Maidan in Chattogram.
The Charmonai Pir also mentioned that those who embezzled money and engaged in corruption during Sheikh Hasina’s rule should be brought to justice. He called for the repatriation of the misappropriated funds to the national treasury. He emphasized that the people of the country desire to see a beautiful and well-governed Bangladesh.
Other senior leaders of Islami Andolan Bangladesh also spoke at the rally, stressing the importance of ensuring the safety of the lives and properties of minorities in the country. They called for the implementation of the nine-point proposal and urged for reforms in the state’s structure.
