For the first time in 13 years, Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh held a press conference at its main office in Moghbazar, Dhaka. The party’s Ameer, Shafiqur Rahman, addressed the media.

Since 2011, no activities had been conducted at this location.

During the press conference on Tuesday afternoon, Shafiqur Rahman strongly urged the immediate dissolution of the parliament and the formation of an interim government.

He also expressed his party’s respect for the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement’s proposal to appoint economist Professor Muhammad Yunus as the head of the interim government.
