In Chandpur, clashes between students and Chhatra League activists have resulted in at least 30 injuries. The conflict occurred amid a continuing student-led protest against systemic inequality. Among the seriously injured are Ashiq-e-Rasul Jowad, Joint Convener of the Municipal Chhatra League, and member Arafat Sani.

On Sunday, August 4, students gathered at Basusand area in the city at 10 AM. By 11 AM, Chhatra League activists took position at the nearby Ilish Chattar. The situation escalated when Chhatra League members began throwing bricks and stones at the students. This led to a chaotic scene with students retaliating by chasing and throwing bricks back.

The clash continued from around 11 AM to 12:30 PM, with both groups wielding sticks and bricks. Many students sustained severe injuries from brick attacks and were immediately given first aid by their peers.

As the violence between the Chhatra League and students intensified, police and an executive magistrate relocated from the old bus stand to a position in front of the Chandpur-Comilla regional road office in an attempt to control the situation.
