In the midst of the ongoing non-cooperation movement, Nahid Islam, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, has announced a new program called ‘Long March to Dhaka.’

Today, Sunday afternoon, Nahid Islam outlined the new agenda for the next two days.

On Monday, the protesters will inaugurate ‘Shaheed Smritifalok’ (memorial plaques) in various locations across the country to commemorate those who lost their lives. Additionally, there will be a workers’ assembly at 11 AM in Shahbagh, Dhaka, followed by a women’s assembly at 5 PM at the Central Shaheed Minar.

The movement will continue with protests, demonstrations, and mass sit-ins across the country.

The key event, ‘Long March to Dhaka,’ is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6. Nahid Islam has called upon students and people from all walks of life to participate and come to Dhaka. A gathering will be held at 2 PM in Shahbagh, Dhaka, on the same day.

Moreover, Nahid Islam has urged the formation of struggle committees led by students in all districts, upazilas, villages, and neighborhoods nationwide.

He further stated that if the coordinators are unable to announce future programs due to arrest or other reasons, the movement should continue to occupy the streets peacefully and persist with the non-cooperation movement until the current government steps down.
