During the ‘March for Justice’ program demanding justice for student murders across the country, police arrested 23 students.

The arrests took place around 12:30 PM on Wednesday (July 31) while they were attempting to march at Royal Mor and Moylapota Mor in the city.

Eyewitnesses reported that, responding to the scheduled program, the protesters began gathering at the intersection around 12:30 PM on Wednesday. At one point, police chased them, and a group of protesters entered Ahsan Ullah College and locked the gate. The police then broke the lock and detained them. Later, around 1:30 PM, leaders and activists of the Chhatra League took to the streets with sticks and processions from Dalmil Mor.

Meanwhile, tension escalated in the area as police, mistaking them for protesters, chased them. Subsequently, another procession of Chhatra League moved from Sher-e-Bangla Road through Moylapota towards Sat Rasta. At 2 PM, another group of protesting students took position at Royal Mor.
