Dhaka, July 29: In the Paltan area of Dhaka, police obstructed a student protest organized under the banner of the anti-discrimination movement, effectively disrupting the gathering. The students have alleged that four individuals were arrested during the incident.

One of the protestors informed BBC Bangla that among those arrested were their co-coordinator, Musaddik Ali Ibn Mohammad, and another individual named Rafi.

Meanwhile, BBC Bangla reporters observed that the entire road from Paltan to the Press Club was under heavy surveillance by police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and the military. No regular traffic was allowed from Paltan to the Press Club, and all shops were instructed to remain closed.

Additionally, barricades were placed around the court area, and no vehicles were permitted to pass through there either.
